Our Mission

  1. Allow our clients to focus on their core business while we work diligently to ensure their small parcel billing accuracy and carrier contract integrity.

  2. Lower our clients overall shipping expense by making certain the carriers refund all billing overcharges, errors and inaccuracies and deliver what they promise so that our clients only pay for the service they receive.

  3. Provide our clients with enhanced reporting visibility so they can better manage, understand and control shipping costs.

  4. Help our clients become more educated shippers. Our goal is to not only identify and have the carriers credit the overcharges and errors, we aim to help our clients put processes in place to prevent and minimize the errors and overcharges going forward; example: address hygiene software to help reduce address corrections, dimensional weight scale, Residential Delivery Indicator software, third party parcel insurance, web-based third party shipping systems, etc.)
LJM Consultants has been helping shippers save time and improve profitability with expert consulting services focused on cost management and recovery since 1998. Line item invoice auditing and contract optimization is specialized work that requires expertise and persistence.

We are committed to the use of advanced technology for analysis and audit. We maintain excellent relationships with the carriers. We work on contingency, which means our only compensation is a percentage of the savings.

Our Management Team

Ken Wood, President and Founder

Ken Wood Mr. Wood founded LJM Consultants in 1998 to address needs that he identified in the parcel shipping process. Active in the shipping industry since 1984, he learned all aspects of the small parcel (UPS/FedEx and DHL) shipping business from the client's perspective. His in-depth client-side knowledge is a unique source of strength in an industry where most auditing and contract negotiating firms have a "carrier-focused" background. Mr. Wood's expertise is not just auditing carrier invoices and negotiating carrier contracts, he is astute at helping shippers put processes in place to help them become more intelligent and efficient. He maintains, "the goal is to help clients minimize carrier billing errors and overcharges before they become an issue."

Mr. Wood held several important industry positions before founding LJM Consultants. He launched his career as New York Regional Director for Friden Alcatel, specializing in third-party shipping software and systems. He later worked at Pitney Bowes, where he oversaw the company's shipping systems business in New York. He is widely experienced in proprietary shipping software, including solutions from A.D.S.I., Kewill, Varsity Logistics, Agile Network, Pitney Bowes, Neopost, Logicor, Malvern, BestWay, Harvey Software, and Fascor; as well as UPS WorldShip, ConnectShip and FedEx Ship Manager.

He created LJM to help companies better measure and manage their shipping spend. He states that shipping is typically the second or third largest company expense for most of the clients he deals with; and the overwhelming majority of those clients cannot quantify or validate their shipping costs. He is the developer of LJM's proprietary auditing software, which is the most technologically advanced solution in the parcel auditing industry. Mr. Wood is often asked to write articles and share his insight regarding happenings within the parcel shipping industry. A graduate of Adelphi University, Mr. Wood runs LJM Consultants' sales and marketing and is responsible for client and business partner relationships.

Kevin DiCapua, Vice President and Co-founder

Mr. DiCapua brings exceptional technological expertise coupled with in-depth knowledge of small parcel shipping to LJM Consultants. An AS/400 (iSeries) programmer by trade, he began his career in information technology (IT) at age 17, running the computer systems and eventually directing the I.T. staff for two major companies.

During 14 years in IT, he worked extensively with data in operational and programming settings. Before helping co-found LJM Consultants, Mr. DiCapua worked at Pitney Bowes, as a Logistics Project and Sales Manager where he managed the sales, implementation and data integration of all vendor provided shipping systems and software.

Mr. DiCapua manages all I.T. and Operations at LJM Consultants. He developed the most technologically advanced software in the auditing industry which allows LJM and their clients to compare and quantify the differences between both UPS and Fed Ex contracts. This software can also help clients measure and quantify the impact of a newly proposed carrier contract versus their current agreement as well as figure out the impact of the yearly rate increases.
